I walked into a room 7 years ago and there he was. My heart leapt and my soul began to sing.

I'd like to start by stating that in writing this I am not necessarily aiming at winning a thing. I write this only to share my story...I am a young man from the USA, Michigan to be precise, how I found my way to this site was through my search for a beautiful bouquet of roses for a very special someone. A year ago I was devastated by an adulterous relationship. Anyone who has been through such an ordeal will know the pain and anguish I went through. For weeks I could do little more than crawl out of bed for an occasional and often miserable attempt in eating. It really was a nightmare. As weeks passed by and the pain started to subside I started back into a semblance of my former life, ultimately realizing that life will go on. I pondered quite a bit on “Is it really better to have loved and love lost than to have never loved at all?” Despite the horribly wretched feelings of self worthlessness and gut wrenching thoughts of being betrayed, my conclusion stil
l to this day is a resounding, YES! Obviously not for the reasons listed above but for so many other, wonderful, reasons. For the feeling one gets by deeply gazing into the eyes of that special someone when everything peripheral seems to fade. All the stresses and worries that come with life just disappear, and for a brief moment in time there are only the two of you bound together in contentment like having a warm blanket wrapped around your body after coming in from the cold. Or the sense of euphoria drawn by that persons touch. And the feeling you get while curled up together on the couch watching an old film and everything feels right with the world and the only thing that matters is being together with each other. It is for these reasons I believe. It is for these reasons why I will love again. At the beginning of this little rant I mentioned a special someone. That someone is a young woman with whom I shared an incredible, but brief, encounter while on vacatio
n in Miami, FL. She is a London native and since the return to our respective homes we have kept in touch daily. In the short amount of time I have known her she has managed to make quite an impression. It is obvious when you meet someone if there is chemistry. It is that spark that compels you to venture further and provides the opportunity to really get to know that someone on a more intimate level. This is exactly what we have encountered. Though different, being half a world away from one another, this experience is not one I am willing to forgo. We may be a world apart but our hearts seem to grow closer each day. It would be premature to call what I am feeling “love” but, it would be ignorant of me to deny the feelings I have. Love is a powerful and wonderful thing. Sometimes in pursuit of love one must through caution to the wind and follow the heart. I am lucky and excited that I am not alone in feeling this way. She has decided to continue her studies her
